Dear AAW Chapter Head,

The Woodturning School is a small hands-on woodturning school in Midcoast Maine. We have new Oneway 1640 lathes, mostly Sorby Turning tools and a 3:1 student/teacher ratio. The school  was the subject of a 4-page story in the summer 2006 issue of American Woodturner. Here is a link to our web site:  http://www.woodturningschool.org/index.html

In order to reach out beyond our own immediate geographic area, we need your help in acquainting your members with courses  that may be uniquely appropriate to them.

·         Two-day Intensive weekend  courses in introductory turning

·         Two-day Intensive Specialty Course that include “Evolutionary Boxes”, “Hollow Turning”, “Turn a Lamp and Lampshade”, “Holiday Gifts”, “Natural Edge Bowls”, “Embellishments, Enhancing and Texturing”, and more.

bulletFive-day basic courses called “Turn to Success”

Please visit our website for our full curriculum with descriptions of each class we offer, as well as information about our school, instructors and our location.

For those of you who are not familiar with our area, Midcoast Maine is a vacation destination that offers a wide variety of attractions including beaches, antiques stores, arts and crafts galleries, lighthouses, boat tours for whale and puffin watches, and lobsters. We have also collaborated with several local resorts and motels which are willing to offer food and lodging at reduced rates to our students.

I look forward to meeting you at the AAW Symposium this June.

Best Regards,
